Losing a child is a devastating pain that no parent should ever have to go through, but Denise, Tony, and all the staff at James Hawes & Goodchild at 216 Well Street, Hackney, E8 made a completely heartbreaking time feel supported and manageable. From our first conversation, they showed immense kindness, patience, and deep empathy. They guided us through every step of planning the service without any pressure, making sure every single detail matched our wishes. On the day of the funeral, the professionalism and care shown by the entire team were faultless. They treated our family—and my beloved Son with the utmost respect, tenderness, and dignity. My family and I cannot thank Denise and her team enough for their support, kindness and professionalism, ensuring that our mother’s funeral ran smoothly last week. The funeral was dignified and beautiful, as we had hoped it would be. Thank you Denise, Samantha, Richard and Deanna.

We were especially grateful when Denise was able to visit us at home to discuss funeral planning. Her first visit helped to put us at ease, especially as the conversation was not one that we wanted to have. Her patience, empathy and expertise made planning, for the funeral, much less painful and daunting than we expected.

Denise or one of her team, was always available at the end of the phone when we needed advice or reassurance on anything.

We used James Hawes for our Dad's funeral back in 2004 so we went with them again for our Mum's this week. A truly excellent service from start to finish. A huge thank you to Alison and Sam who helped us through a really difficult time. Their professional, caring approach made every aspect of the service, from initial arrangements to dropping off at the wake, perfect for the family. Also, a huge thank you to your team who helped make the day go off as good as it could have.

Thank you to Denise and her team for their support and help during our difficult time. The kindness and compassion shown to the family and attention to detail at the service was greatly appreciated, they knew exactly what we needed when we wasnt in the right frame of mind. They were on hand to support us every step of the way. We cannot thank them enough and will always be greatful.

Could not ask for better people to help me throughout the sad time of planning my dad's celebration of life day. Whatever was asked, was done and done to perfection. They became a part of my family and I will always be grateful for making it so easy for us. A MASSIVE thank you to Denise King who done everything so effortlessly and was there for us all the way. Another thank you goes to Samantha who handled everything with such care with all our emotions and esp with my youngest son on how she comforted him and done everything to keep him at a calm mind. I would like to say a massive thank you for the funeral directors and staff, Denise, Richard, Deanna and Sam, for the care of my Late Father Mr Patrice and the highly professional execution of his funeral. They did a wonderful job from start to finish, from the moment I walked through those doors to present with phone calls to check in to see how Im doing. Due to their services my fathers funeral turned out beautifully.
